[S4E12] A Family Matter
To her credit, Lorelai is pretty good at talking Luke down and helping him realize that no matter how pissed he is at Jess, dealing with a "frozen carcass" the next morning isn't worth it. When Luke leaves for Nicole's, he does end up inviting Jess to spend the night at his apartment. I must award Luke and Lorelai maturity points because I would have let the little turd turn into an icicle with zero remorse.

Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Jay (Ed O'Neill) try to plan a surprise birthday party for Manny (Rico Rodriguez) since it is his 14th birthday and also because it is the last birthday they are going to be just the three of them. While they are out of the house trying to get a cake, the rest of the family is at their home setting up the party. Manny, thinking that no one will be home, comes home with his new girlfriend (Krystal Gauvin), who kisses him as a birthday gift, oblivious to the fact that everyone is watching them in the dark. The girl feels embarrassed and runs away, and Manny locks himself in his room. Jay finally persuades him to come out and enjoy his party, only for Gloria's water to break when he does. She tries to not give birth until after midnight, so Manny won't have to share his birthday. Manny tells her he appreciates the thought, but he doesn't mind. Gloria then gives birth to a boy, who the family welcomes.
Leigh Raines of TV Fanatic rated "Party Crasher" with a 4.5/5 saying that this kind of Modern Family episode had been her favorite."This was my favorite kind of Modern Family episode. Things go from laughs to feeling tears prick at your eyes and little goosebumps of emotion. So happy to have a new addition to the family!"[4]
Michael Adams of 411mania gave the episode 9/10. "I liked this episode. I liked the separate family story lines, as well as the final moment where they all got to meet the new family member, and were confused about their relationship towards the baby."[7]
Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies star as Klaus and Elijah Mikaelson in this Vampire Dairies spin-off about the first family of vampires, their life in New Orleans, and the witches and werewolves who live there.

Walt and Skyler frantically pack their family's belongings. As DEA agents arrive to take them into protective custody at the Schrader residence, Walt tells Skyler that the hitman is after him and that his presence will only make the situation more dangerous. Skyler reluctantly leaves him behind as she takes Holly to her sister's.
After Gomez leaves, Jesse continues his cook. Afterward, a laundry truck drops him off near his car on a remote street. Jesse attempts to contact Walt without success, but finds several panicked voicemail messages from Saul. When he arrives at Saul's office, Huell, acting as Saul's bodyguard, pats him down for weapons. Saul gives Jesse the rest of his money that he had stored, and says that he is fleeing for his own safety after Gus threatened Walt's family. Elsewhere, Hank looks at Gomez' photos from the laundry, frustrated at the apparent dead end.
While taking a break in handing out gifts to orphan kids, Laura buys an expensive Christmas ornament she put on layaway as her Christmas gift to her mother, Harriette. Urkel shows up in his car to take her home. Laura asks him to leave because she had already called Eddie to come pick her up. Steve wouldn't take any of it and reminds her it's freezing. He takes her bag and in the process he accidentally breaks the expensive ornament. Realizing what he had done, he tries to apologize to her. Just before Urkel could utter an apology, Laura is real infuriated with him for breaking her mother's Christmas gift. She tells him to get lost and wishes that he finds out what's it like to be her. A disheartened Steve leaves and Laura goes back to sitting down on the bench freezing and waiting for Eddie to pick her up. Minutes later, Laura's guardian angel, Tyrone P. "Ty" Jackson shows up in front of her. He stops the time all together which prevents the people from moving with his handy angel remote. Laura's real impressed with that, but Ty's not there for chit-chat and tells her that he's here to grant her wish. He changes the TV screen to her family's house and that they're watching the Angel Broadcasting Channel (ABC). Tyrone tells Laura if he can successfully convince her to change her ways and wish, he'll be able to get his angel wings.
Minutes later, she recovers from her shock and asks if that "horrible-looking person" is her. Ty says yes and tells her that in this AU she's the Winslow family's annoying next door neighbor, Laura Urkel. He smiles at the idea and she's horrified by it. She tells him that she looks like a "total geek" and she demands he turn it off now. Tyrone refuses Laura's request and tells her that she needs to experience the emotions that Urkel goes through when she yells at him. He clicks his remote and transports her into Laura Urkel's body against her wishes.
Immediately, Tyrone uses his remote and brings Laura back to where they were watching the alternate universe. She tells him it was an emotional trip because she acted and looked like a nerd. However, she admitted that she had feelings like anyone else. She loved Steve with all her heart, but he hated her and it felt awful to endure the feelings. She tells him she wishes to be nicer to Urkel and that she never wants to yell at him like that again. Ty tells her that was the wish he was really here to grant and is relieved that he's finally getting his wings. He gives Laura a second chance, and before leaving he asks her to keep an eye out for the first lighted star. She makes good on it when Urkel breaks the expensive ornament. Instead of yelling at Steve, she tells him not to worry about it and that the important thing is that he's okay. He takes her home and asks him to spend Christmas with her family.
Why does it matter? I'm not sure it does. It's just an interesting thing to think about---kind of like, wouldn't zombies all be naked from the waste down at this point because their pants wouldn't stay up after wasting away?

Family. Be it by bonds created by blood or choices we made, it gets complicated. But no matter the bond it always takes two or more to maintain that connection and keep it beneficial. Which can be hard when ego, our own inability to communicate, and distrust gets in the way.
One of the hardly arguable highlights of Black media returns. And, as always, you find yourself smiling because of the family dynamics, crying tears over certain struggles they have, and end up triggered as well. To say the least, Queen Sugar remains an emotional roller coaster ride that as soon as it is over, you want to get right back on.
Haley will meet the rest of the family at the Pritchett abode, one hour later than they were told, according to Claire, since she is going out a date with one of her co-workers at the clothing store, Kenny, who is Phil's age ca.. A wicked ponytail and beard and custom jeans for him and Claire (PHIL: It feels like I'm wearing a diaper!) are enough to get him to look the other way. Claire accuses Phil of being okay with barely-legal Haley dating a much older man, given Phil's crush on Hermione Granger (Emma Watson). Phil angrily declares that he is "never telling Luke anything again".
PHIL: When I was 17, I was really close with my friend, Stacy's mom. Mrs. Robinson was a former cheerleader, so she knew just how to massage my legs after practice. She had her own homemade Ben-Gay that didn't burn, no matter where she rubbed it on me. If I had a chance to go over there, I'd never miss an opportunity.
Jay and Gloria finally make it there, and Gloria goes over the plan to surprise Manny by turning the lights out and singing when he turns them on. Alex needs to write it down (sarcasm), but Manny got there earlier than planned. Manny enters with a female friend, who kisses him as an early birthday present. She turns the lights on and lets out a shriek, which Manny believes is due to a shriek. (MANNY: It's harsh, I know! I wanted to put in a better dimmer.) Seeing the family, she runs for the hills, and Manny was completely incensed for ruining his first kiss. Luke mockingly assures him that he caught it all on tape. Gloria tries to talk to him, but Manny runs to his room. Gloria's baby is ready to come out, but she tries to hold it because she feels bad about Manny having to share her; now he might have to share a birthday as well. Jay tries to talk to Manny, saying at least Manny can prove he kissed a girl. Kenny certainly wasn't ingratiating himself to Claire or Phil, even admitting he acted more like a 14-year-old than Manny did. He even had a daughter that age. Phil resisting the urge to clip his ponytail with garden shears for running Haley's hand up his leg, Claire tries to keep him at bay. Gloria gets everybody to sing Happy Birthday to Manny, who has finally come out of his room, just in time to see Gloria's water break. She refused to leave, forcing Jay to drag her to the car, apologizing to Manny the whole way. 041b061a72
