Logitech glass microscope slides are used for the permanent mounting of thin rock, concrete and soil thin sections. These microscope slides are manufactured to stringent production quality control procedures, ensuring flatness and the elimination of bubbles, seeds, striae and other imperfections.

Effective image management and automated systems communication are essential for digital pathology success. Secure, scalable solutions with flexible deployment options enable anytime, anywhere access to your slides.

Create clearly superior microscope slides and e-slides. The diverse Surgipath range lets you choose a high-quality slide for any application, and Premier and Micro Coverglass are available for automated and manual coverslipping.

Transportation and storage conditions considerably affect the quality and performance of microscope slides. Microscope slides should be stored in a dry place at constant room temperature. Slides should be stored on a pallet or shelf and not directly on a floor. Do not store slides and solvents together as the slide surface can turn hydrophobic. If the temperature is constantly warming and cooling, condensation may occur, which can cause sticking of the slides. Slides should be allowed to reach room temperature prior to use.

To keep your prepared microscope slides in good condition, always store them in a container made for the purpose and away from heat and bright light. The ideal storage area is a cool, dark location, such as a closed cabinet in a temperature-controlled room. Stained slides naturally fade over time. Keeping them in a cool, dark location helps slow down the process.Slides should be kept horizontal (flat) with the specimen side up. If they are stored on edge, the cover glass or specimen may shift out of position. Take care not to stack slides on top of one another or apply pressure to the cover glass.

With proper care, prepared microscope slides can stay in good condition and last a long time. For more information about slide handling and storage call 800.227.1150 and ask for the Microscope Slides Department.

These chemical-resistant RFID labels are intended for identifying glass microscope slides, commonly used in histological procedures. When printed with our XAR-class of solvent-resistant ribbons and applied onto a flat surface, they will withstand up to 15 hours of immersion in solvents, such as xylene, as well as exposure to alcohols, acetone, Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO), and other harsh chemicals.

These UHF RFID labels can be printed and encoded with up to 32 hexadecimal characters of information using dedicated RFID thermal-transfer printers and printed with alphanumeric text, 1D and 2D barcodes, as well as serialized data. The integrated RFID chip allows multiple labeled microscope slides to be read simultaneously, even when fully immersed in xylene.

VWR supplies microscope slides for cytology, histology, and general microbiology applications. Glass microscope slides for staining experiments are constructed of high quality sheet glass and soda-lime glass; economical options include disposable clear vinyl or standard sheet glass slides. Choose plain or frosted products with or without coverslips. Clipped or beveled corners are offered as well as color-coded and markable slides for organization. Purchase blank slides or prepared microscope slides in your choice of dimensions and thickness in packs or larger cases. Storage boxes for microscope slides of various sizes and materials are also available.

High-quality microscope slides. The glass is subject to rigid quality control procedures to ensure flatness without impurities or defects. All the slides are pre-washed, polished and have fine ground edges. Supplied in boxes of 50 except where indicated.

These are important to labs where a lot of slides are produced and the lab needs to index the slides by type: white=bone samples, green=blood, etc. All the labels can be written on with pencil or felt-tip pen (sometimes ball-point).

Now all of these slides are flat, which is fine for samples that need to be laid flat. This is fine for solid samples, or for liquids that are to be flattened underneath a cover slip. This is fine for observing dead materials, but what if you wish to observe living organism from say pond water or other sources? This is where concave slides come into play:

Having a set of blank slides (and cover slips) at the ready is almost a requirement for owning a telescope. They are inexpensive and good to have when you find a new item to examine. Slide preparing kits can also help with stains and other materials to help prepare slides for viewing. Be sure to have some of these around if you plan to properly use your microscope.www.spectrum-scientifics.com

You might be amazed at what a variety of shapes and color you can find by looking at chemicals or food under the microscope! All of these substances can be made into wet mount slides, but some of the chemicals also look interesting as dry mount slides.

Proficiency testing programmes for measuring screening skills in pathology are mainly conducted using conventional glass microscope slides. However, the availability of robotic microscopes allows an entire conventional slide to be digitized. Our experiments have shown that, using a widely available robotized microscope and a PC, the image of a single field may be acquired in 2 s on average, including stage movements, autofocus and storage. Digitizing an entire slide, a fully automated procedure, takes up to 8 h. If the image of each field is compressed at an appropriate quality level (a compression ratio of, say, 35:1) it requires about 40 kByte to be stored, resulting in a total storage requirement of about 600 MByte per slide. Thus one CD-ROM can be used to store one virtual slide, as well as a self-installing program to provide a microscope simulator facility. This allows pathologists to examine the virtual case from their computer in a similar manner to looking at a glass slide on a conventional microscope. This permits a new, computer-based approach to proficiency testing in histopathology and cytopathology. Use of virtual slides should encourage the diffusion of national quality assurance programmes, which at present suffer from certain organizational and logistical limitations. 041b061a72
