Content Manager Assistant for PlayStation is a computer application that enables data transfer between your system and a computer (Windows/Mac). You perform all of these operations using your system.

To start the application manually, click [Start] > [All Programs] > [Content Manager Assistant for PlayStation] on your computer. When the application starts, its icon appears in the notification area on the taskbar.

The PlayStation Vita system software uses LiveArea as its user interface, which includes various social networking features via the PlayStation Network (PSN). Users can select the icon for a game or an application on the home screen to open the LiveArea screen for that game or application in PlayStation Vita or PlayStation TV. As a new feature of PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV's LiveArea, latest game information such as downloadable contents are shown on the LiveArea screen for that game. In addition, by scrolling down the game's LiveArea, the "Activity" of other users who are playing the same game can be checked instantly.

The "Browser" is a preinstalled app on the PlayStation Vita for browsing the World Wide Web. Although not very different from web browsing on a PlayStation Portable, the browser itself has been improved over the PSP's version, which is intended to result in a less difficult experience. The browser application does not have tabs, but users can have up to 8 separate browser windows open at once, and can also save images from websites to the PS Vita memory card by touching and holding on the image until a menu appears. However, while users can use the web browser while playing a game or watching a video, the display of some content will be limited; as a result, it is recommended to exit any open game or video before performing more intensive browsing tasks. Furthermore, while the PS Vita's web browser supports HTML5, cookies and JavaScript, it does not support Adobe Flash, unlike the PSP's web browser.[11]

Another application preinstalled on the PlayStation Vita at launch was "Maps," which displayed online maps when an Internet connection was available. However, it was removed by Sony via a system update, along with the "near" feature in 2015.[12]

Furthermore, there are a few entertainment applications available for download on the PlayStation Store for the PS Vita and the PS TV system. Sony announced at Gamescom 2011[13] applications like Netflix would become available via the PlayStation Store.[14] Additional applications available for download include Music Unlimited,[15] Flickr,[16] Nico Nico, TuneIn Radio, Qello, Crunchyroll, Crackle, Hulu Plus, Redbox Instant and YouTube,[17][18] although many of them are not compatible with the PS TV at launch.[19]

First thing you have to do is download the original PlayStation game you'd like to bring over you your Vita on your PlayStation 3, which for the case of Legend of Dragoon is the only system it is listed compatible for other than PSP. Don't install the game on your PlayStation 3 after it finishes downloading. After that, plug your Vita into your PlayStation 3 using the handheld's charging USB cable, and open up the Vita's Content Manager application. Select the copy content option.

Qcma is a cross-platform application to provide a Open Source implementationof the original Content Manager Assistant that comes with the PS Vita. Qcma ismeant to be compatible with Linux, Windows and MAC OS X.

Custom Themes Manager is a simple application for PlayStation Vita that allows you, as the name implies, to fully manage your Custom Themes direcly from the console. The user can browse, view, download and install Custom Themes from the online repository of psv.altervista.org on his PSVita directly from the same application, without the need to use the Internet Browser, external apps or mods to the database or to connect the console to a PC. This application also includes a function to completely uninstall any Custom Theme you don't like anymore so as to free up space for new themes, again without the need of a PC or having to format the whole Memory Card. Included also other useful features, such as: installing a Custom Theme from a local folder of your Memory Card, creating and restoring (in case you need) a backup of your own database (app.db file), dumping an official theme to a local folder, checking for updates available for any Custom Theme in the online repository, applying a theme without the need to go in the Settings app manually or choosing what partition to use to install the Custom Themes files. Finally, the application also includes a handy function to reboot your PSVita, saving you the trouble to manually shutdown and restart it, useful to correctly apply changes and avoid any bug after Custom Theme(s) installation or uninstallation.

Starting from v3.00 you can translate the application in your favorite language! Just download the default strings file from here _Squirrel/custom-themes-manager/downloads/ctm.txt, edit it by translating the strings in your favorite language and then put it in the root of the Memory Card (so at the address ux0:ctm.txt). The program at startup will search for this file and will load its strings from there.

Starting from v4.00 you can download from PC all the preview images of the online repository and import them in the application's cache, so as to speed up the navigation in the repository menu from the app and avoid to download hundreds of images files individually from the application. All you need to do is:

So you shelled out $250 for the PlayStation Vita, and another $100 for a 32GB memory card, the largest size Sony makes. Finally! You can have all the Vita and PSP games, PSOne Originals, apps, and minis you want. Wait, not so fast. According to a NeoGAF poster, the Vita has a set limit on how many apps can be on the system at once, regardless of how much space is on your memory card. As this owner reports it, even with 9GB of space free, an error message appears after downloading application number 101.

The implementation of Skype on the PS Vita leaves a very crucial mark on the portable gaming industry, as this will be the first time ever when portable console owners will be able to make video calls on the go with the hope being that the availability of such a popular software package will rejuvenate Vita sales and go someway to proving just what the device is capable of doing outside the realms of gaming. The Skype app will be available for both the Wi-Fi and the 3G+Wi-Fi versions of the PlayStation Vita and will function as a backgrounded application, a feature that is noticeably lacking in the recent Skype for Windows Phone app. 041b061a72
